Live-In Care Requirements
1. Private Accommodations: A private bedroom must be provided for the live-in caregiver.
2. Scheduling & Days Off: Days off are arranged between the family and matched caregiver. If coverage is needed during caregiver days off, Carelink can provide a replacement caregiver.
Placement Fee
A $350 non-refundable placement fee is due upon signing the contract and prior to caregiver recruitment for both hourly and live-in cases. This fee covers recruitment, comprehensive screening, background checks, and administrative onboarding.
(Note: The placement fee is separate and does not apply toward ongoing care costs.)
How is Extensive Care Defined
1. Nighttime Wake-Ups (The #1 Factor for Live-In):
Standard: The caregiver gets 5 to 8 hours of continuous sleep.
Extensive: The client wakes up multiple times every night (sundowning, frequent bathroom needs, severe pain), preventing the caregiver from sleeping. Add $75/day.
2. Both Spouses Needing Heavy Care Simultaneously (For Couples):
Standard: One spouse needs hands-on help, and the other just needs light monitoring or minor assistance.
Extensive: Both spouses are high-acuity (e.g., both need full bathing, total transfer assistance, and complex dementia care at the same time), doubling the continuous workload for that single caregiver. Add $75/day.
